I sit down with Kristen, and immediately I notice her soft demeanor, her gentle mannerisms, and her soothing voice and presence. This is the kind of person who exudes an invitation to be held in safety.
Kristen describes to me a bit of her journey to Charlottesville and Life Works Professional Counseling Center. Kristen has decades of clinical and community-based experience working with older adults. When asked why the switch to the clinical practice at LWPC, she shares that initially it was the philosophy described on the website that piqued her interest. “I liked the philosophy” she shares. She describes looking for a learning culture, and finding good support, a compassionate culture, a holistic mind/body approach, and a client-centered practice at LWPC. Importantly, she also finds that self-care is really supported at LWPC.
Ultimately, “the people here are one of the things I like the most,” she states.
We’re so grateful for the strengths and talents Kristen brings with her to support our culture at LWPC. It’s true, we do sincerely strive to build and maintain a holistic mind/body approach with a culture of learning, support, and compassion - both for our clinicians and our clients.
